Finding something funny this week was a challenge.
Clean funny video suggestions are welcome.
I got the query letter done that I needed to do, but I still have a lot of other work for this that I need to get done. Saturday and Sunday are dedicated to getting through all of Pride and Prejudice. I must do that. Cause honestly that is the hardest thing ahead of me. Everything else I can get done during Finals week. My boss at work would tell me, use this week to get homework done, cause I've finished hiring for the Student Literary Journal I manage and I told everyone else to focus on their work. I figure its only fair.
5. Get myself some stories ready to get published somewhere.
I didn't get the story rewritten this past week, but it will happen this upcoming week. I'm hoping that I can capture the elements that it was missing before. And maybe it will be good enough to do something in the Writers of the Future contest. Realistically I'm competing against so many better writers than me, so I doubt I'll make it. But what I'm hoping for is that it sharpens my writing skills so that I can make progress toward my goal of publishing soon.
That's really all I have. It has been a rough week for me exploring sites and getting new content due to my weariness. Next Wednesday will be better. (Mostly because of the Buffer. I hope to have next Wednesday's post mostly ready by Monday. I'll just be updating goals.) Thanks for reading my blog and all. I'm still Jayrod Garrett, the First OG. Peace.

You've got a lot on your plate, Jayrod, and that can overwhelm (and take away energy) like you wouldn't believe. Congrats on the weightloss, just be careful that you resume regular eating slowly, because every fasting style diet I've heard has that "fall back" point, and since we're writers with mostly sedentary lives (UGH!)we need to incorporate more ways to work our bodies into our days.
ReplyDeleteGo for it re: Writers of the Future Really. It's not a matter of "better" writers a lot of the time it's market, it's that piece of story. And who know? You certainly won't know if you won't try.
I plan on trying Eden. I've wanted to be a writer for a long time now, but I'm not afraid of anyone being better than me. It is about market and the story being told. And I'm willing to put in the work to become good enough that folks will believe my writing is worth their time. Thanks for the vote of confidence.
DeleteI'm glad you still have yur sense of humor in everything you are pressed with. I wish I could help, but like the friar learning how to use a book, I am a primitive soul. At least I can laugh at it and how it relates to my condition. The exercise is good. Make time for that, not just for physical condition and weight control, but for a clear mind, which is essential to a writer. While I can't help, I can support you emotionaly by saying "go for it". You know best your talents, the writers market, and other nuances related to your endeavor.
ReplyDeleteI'm going out right now to take some time to clear my mind, Dad. Thanks for always commenting and helping me to remember that I can become good enough. I just need to keep working at it.
